SRINAGAR: An army jawan was killed in a gunfight between militants and security forces in Sopore town of north Kashmir on Tuesday morning.
The jawan was killed when militants opened indiscriminate fire on the joint search party of army and police at Chankipura, 55 km from here, at around 5 AM, a defence spokesman said.
The exchange of fire between the two sides was going on when reports last came in.
